Williamsburg Shade Tree Committee set April as target for town tree planting event. Members unanimously approved previous minutes and met with Highway Superintendent Dan Banister to coordinate tree removal and stump-grinding processes. The committee endorsed a Smith College Greenway Lab partnership for a GIS-based tree inventory tracking species, condition, and utility proximity; Tree Warden Thomas Por said it would guide strategic planting decisions.
Priority planting will alternate between North Main in Williamsburg Center and Haydenville, with winter data collection preceding April logistics planning.
