Shade Tree Committee _ Tree Warden · Meeting of July 1, 2026
Williamsburg Shade Tree Committee planned September tree planting at Meekins Library. The committee scheduled approximately 10 trees from Amherst Nursery at an estimated $2,500 cost, funded through flood tree and Arthur King funds, responding to community concerns following the removal of sick maples. The committee also approved a collaboration with Smith College's Greenway Lab to conduct a tree inventory trial in Burgy Center and Haydenville Center by September, with student intern Ava developing inventory templates using GIS maps.
Additional plantings at the Public Safety Complex and other sites were postponed to spring.
