Shade Tree Committee _ Tree Warden · Meeting of June 3, 2026
WILLIAMSBURG — Newly formed Shade Tree Committee charts community tree-planting event. The committee--Pam Acheson, Dean Acheson, Eva Wetzel, and Tom Bodo--identified civic groups including Lions Club, senior center, and churches as potential sponsors and labor sources. Proposed planting sites span the Public Safety Complex, South Main Street in Haydenville, and North Main Street in Williamsburg; scope remains open at six to twenty trees pending budget review and completion of an inventory.
The event may occur in late summer or over Indigenous Peoples Day weekend, with school volunteer coordination and high school community service hours under discussion.
