Selectmen appoint new Town Administrator, greenway contractor, grant

Williamsburg Selectmen unanimously appoint Town Administrator, award greenway contract. The board approved a three-year employment agreement with Thomas Bernard, effective April 16, 2026, and awarded a $1,992,646.50 contract to Western Earthworks for the South Main Street portion of the Mill River Greenway and Switchback, with a MassWorks grant covering $204,000 and a Complete Streets grant fully funding the switchback component. The board also accepted a $60,439 Department of Energy Resources Green Communities competitive grant for energy conservation work at the ATD school, certified free cash at $938,215, and received $326,265.62 in Chapter 90 apportionment funds for road maintenance.
