Williamsburg Council on Aging scheduled board officer elections and updated summer programming on June 17. Interim Chair Daria D'Arienzo oversaw a board meeting with Director Melissa Wilso and staff, scheduling officer elections for July 15 and discussing governance changes including rotating the chair position yearly. The board plans an Ice Cream Social July 10 expecting 40 to 45 guests and a Multigenerational Event August 7 with approximately 40 guests.
The Farm Share Program 2026, a partnership with Prospect Meadow Farm, now serves about 30 participants, a significant increase from the prior year. The center faces funding pressure as partner Highland Valley Elder Services announced budget cuts and closed out the Senior Center transportation grant of 6,000 dollars.
