Council on Aging approves bylaw change to add associate members

Williamsburg Senior Center · Meeting of January 21, 2026

Williamsburg Council on Aging unanimously approves bylaw amendment establishing associate members. The change allows the board chair to designate an Associate Member to sit on the board during absences or conflicts and to fill vacancies until a permanent appointment is made, addressing a governance gap in quorum formation. Maureen O'Brien was unanimously elected Treasurer.

Chair elections were postponed until the February 18 meeting following the retirement of Dianne Martin, who was honored with gifts and recognition. The board also reported on active programming including the first Seniors' Game Day, monthly men's and women's groups at the Williamsburg Snack Bar, and an April 25 volunteer fair at Hingham School.
