Conservation Commission continues hearings, schedules site visit on enforcement order.

Conservation Commission · Meeting of April 1, 2026

Williamsburg Conservation Commission continued hearings and scheduled a site visit for enforcement action. The Commission met April 1 with commissioners Joe Rogers, Melinda McCall, and Rachel Prouty to address unpermitted wetland clearing at 79 South Street near Unquomonk Brook; a site visit is set for April 9 to develop a restoration plan with property owners Thomas and Francine Beattie. Ry Patton reported the Gere Hill forest management plan is ready for state approval with summer timber bidding ahead, though the town may need to front $2,300 for knotweed treatment at a neighbor's log landing to prevent invasive species spread.

A Bundled Notice of Intent for highway maintenance work (DEP No. 342-0156) and a Certificate of Compliance request for 9 Goshen Road (DEP No. 342-0150) were both continued to May 5.
